Church Building & Sanctuary

The Church building, built in 1927 and renovated in 1997, bestows artistic reverence to our worship of the Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to the Sanctuary, the building houses three stories of class rooms, meeting areas, nurseries and office spaces. A completed basement has a fully functional kitchen, more rooms, and a large fellowship hall with stage. There are many fine art works and stain glass throughout the building, all depicting the beliefs of our Christian faith.

The Sanctuary with balcony seats 500 people. The pipe organ was built by M. P. Möller, Inc. in 1947 and updated in 1983. The organ is one of the largest in area with over 1700 pipes located above the choir. A grand piano, lighting, and sound systems also assist in a meaningful worship experience.

An Atrium is at one of two handicap entrances with parking and drive up loading. From the Atrium entrance, a covered walkway leads to the Willingham Center, and an entrance to the Prayer Garden with bell tower. The Spirit of God can be felt throughout all parts of the church building.

Willingham Center

The Willingham Center, a Christian activities building, was opened  in 1999.  This facility was named for Mr. and Mrs. Gid Willingham who were great supporters of the Church's Mission. The building houses a gym, meeting room, and kitchen, and is located next to First United Methodist Church at 200 Carr Street.  Adequate parking and handicap entrance are available.  The gymnasium is controlled to maintain the same temperature year round.  A computer controlled video camera system is used for security.  The facility is open for gym and exercise and may be rented for birthday parties and other group activities.
